3D Scan platform for turntable with unique features

I have made this for 3D scanning platforms. It is a 3D rotary encoder wheel, that can be used to keep track of scans where the object has no clear features and the track is lost while scanning. The objects sits a few mm above the platform, so the platform can be separated easily after the scan.

I like this one more than the marker-mode, because the 3D data is more reliable. Markers are not detected that good and easily be hidden.
