Here's my custom Frame for the 3dFly Micro Quad. This is the V1... First print went out more than good enough and I started building the quad with it right away.
The frame alone weights 10g using PLA. It's a bit lighter than the model from Hovership (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1098831), and it is a lot sturdier. ;)
The quad build can be completed with just the main frame, but I like to protect the Lipo and Flight Controller with some extra plates. I use m3 x 1.5cm Nylon screws and nuts to attach the FC and Battery plates and tie wraps to lock the motors in their sockets.
Once the Plates are screwed down, the frame gets so stiff that the arms barely twist.
The plates are 1mm thin and flexible enough to wrap around the MicroFrX and Battery to keep them tight.
Prop Guards Redesigned and printed in ABS for flexibility and strength. They now fit much better than the first version.
For v2, I'll trim some weight out of the main frame and accommodate a future FPV setup
