This is a cable chain system that I designed for the 3uP 3D printer. It utilizes chain that I found on Thingiverse (No sense in reinventing the wheel!), and some custom end plates that I designed. It is designed to mount on the back right side of the printer, and to the X Slider (w/ mounting holes) from the 3uP v1.3.1 and newer.
I tried several different mounting points, but for the chain to work smoothly, and not bind up, I mounted it in the only spot I could find. You will need 38-40 chain links and one of each end plate to get it working. Also, make sure you feed your wires through with the largest connector first. I had to remove the connector from the wires for the hot end, but it is simple enough and the wires will snap right back in. Another tip is to feed the wire in small sections of chain, approx 5-8 links at a time, then snap them together. This is a work in progress, and if you have any comments or suggestions, I am all ears. Enjoy!
