4.5 Inch Vacuum Chuck

UPDATE: Added a 1" x 8TPI threaded version per request. I have not tested that file personally but it was created from the original parametric fusion model. This is a 4.5" outside diameter vacuum chuck for wood turning. See also my 3.5" chuck and 5.5" chuck. This is threaded for a 1 ¼ 8tpi lathe spindle. Pictured here on my Powermatic 3520. I used ABS for strength and because I could acetone finish it to help with holding an airtight seal. These are only meant for light finishing cuts, sanding, etc. I wouldn't trust any vacuum chuck for rough turning, especially a plastic one. See my printed 85A TPU gasket for an airtight seal or you can use closed cell foam as well . I printed it open side down so the supports and ugly side would be on the inside. Variable line height was turned down to 0.12 for the threads to get a clean print. Printed in PETG the fit was perfect for me but I don't trust PETG for this. With ABS (like the one pictured) the threaded part was a hair tight. You can get i
