I recent built an enclosure for printing hotter materials like ABS. To prevent cold air from working it's way up the vent hose and slow hot air from leaking out I put a surgical mask over the vent hole. I only had to experiment one night before i realized the surgical mask was restricting too much airflow from the fan. Since my vent goes to a window, but is still behind a screen, I needed a solution to be fairly low profile. I designed this vent cover to prevent back drafts by only swinging one way. When venting, the cover opens allowing unrestricted air flow. This was designed for a 4 inch hole but could probably be used up to 4.5. Anything smaller obviously will work fine as well.
