These cover pieces are designed to fit in between the fan and extruder. It comes in two versions one that needs to be turned on and one that can be clicked on without having to remove the fan. The idea is that it is easy to remove when changing the filament. Then you can see the throat and bring the filament down to the correct place.
If you've thrown away the spacers or lost them, I've made them too.
