I modifed the design to:
1. Accept 3mm wire.
2. Use this motor

(It has a 8mm gear instead of a 6mm gear. You will also need an 8mm bearing.)
3. Reversed arm direction.
4. Added support from the pcb holder to motor holder.
5. Added 'ramps' to additionally hold the motor in place.
