A “foot” for the bottom of a 4x4 to act as a spacer and help prevent the wood from rotting from ground contact. This was designed for a picnic table that will be dragged around. These could also be used as spacers on the bottom of a step or even a small set of stairs, but I wouldn't use it in a serious load bearing application. Holes are countersunk on both sides, allowing you to install whichever way you likeSLIGHTLY undersized b/c no 4x4 is exactly 3.5" x 3.5" - especially pressure treated lumberInstall using the center hole first - it's there to help you center the foot on your 4x4. Pro tip: on the bottom of the 4x4, draw a straight line from corner to corner. Where the lines cross is your center point. The model has small slits around the 4 outside screw holes. This “forces” the slicer to add walls around the holes and I put them there there to provide extra strength for the screws when the table is dragged around.
