This requires a multi-material printer. Please refer to the included project files for a reference for how to print the checkerboard pattern.

Minichess is a Chess variant invented by Martin Gardner in 1969. It uses a small 5x5 board, with a reduced number of pieces. There are several different starting positions that can be used.

If you would like to purchase a copy, I sell sets at:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/1370437234/5x5-minichess-set-chess-variant-with-a

The rules of chess apply, with the following differences:
Pawns have no double-move option.
There is no castling.

The pieces for this set can be found at:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5670069

The pieces and board are intended to be magnetized with 6x3mm magnets. There is a storage tray with a magnetic latch.

This is scaled down from FIDE standard size. The three different sizes of the board are:
50% scale: 5.7" x 5.7" x 1.2", using 6x3mm magnets
33% scale: 3.8" x 3.8" x 0.8", using 4x2mm magnets
