3DP, Clothes ButtonsGarment Buttons, those sewed on to fabric, goes through several cycles of washing and pressing. Washing could be by hand, machine, boiler as in case of Hospitals, chemicals as in case of dry cleaning etc. And pressing could be by hot iron or steam. FDM 3D Printing invariably uses “Thermoplastic” filament material. Viz. PLA, ABS, PETG, Nylon, TPU, Etc.And the sewed buttons are expected to go through above washing and pressing cycles. So I designed removable Buttons and 3D printed those on my Creality Ender3 S1 Pro. These buttons are different, delicate, and ornamental. They require two Button Holes for their usage. They are removed before any washing or pressing. They are also called as “Kurta Buttons” in South Asian region. The Button comprises of two components. Top ornamental Fascia. And Base with a stem. I designed the Fascia on my Android Phone App, Nomad Sculpt. And the Base, with matching stem ends, on My PC, AutoCAD. Developed 5 different pairs with different stem lengths and Fascia.The STL file is enclosed. Can be scaled to any size. I printed Fascia in 16mm maximum diameter, and Base in 18mm maximum diameter, In PLA in different colors, on my Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro.These are print easy products. And the printing instructions are provided in the enclosed PDFs.Assemble the two components although it is a Snap-On joint, it is recommended to use adhesive for strength and durability.I am sure these little cute “Kurta-Buttons”, you will like.Check it out.
