If you need to organize heat shrink tubing, or other long lengths of material, a spool works well. This spool is designed to store about 10 feet of 1/4" OD heat shrink tubing. There is a rectangular hole in the hub to so that the end of the heat shrink tubing can be flattened out and tucked in. There is a hex through the center of the hub which fits a 1/4" hex bit to effortlessly wind up the material with an electric screwdriver, drill, etc. The outer diameter is a rounded hex shape so it it is comfortable to hold but also won't roll away easily. On each flat edge there's a rectangle cut to act as a keeper for the outside end of the material, as it gets used up.A few notes on print settings:You need supports for this but there's a couple ways you could approach it:1. I printed this with the axis of the hub vertically oriented on the build plate with relative low gyroid infill (7%). I used regular supports (type "normal" and style "default" settings) with a relatively wide "base pattern spacing" (8mm) and 2 top interface layers to make them a bit easier to remove, save print time, and also save filament. The rectangular cut through the hub acting as the keeper for the initial bit of material being rolled up doesn't need to be supported since it's such a thin cavity.2. Alternatively, you could print this with tree supports, style "organic", originating only from the build plate. This may dramatically reduce the support removal time, but it will take a little longer to print. To reduce the print time you could play with settings like Increasing the value of "Branch Diameter with Double Walls" (or changing to 0 to turn it off completely), and possibly lowering the value of "Branch Density" slightly, but I don't think I'd be comfortable going lower than like 20% or so.
