As rebel Irish activity reached dangerous heights on the remote world of Victoria, the British Army found itself struggling to deal with the constant ambushes and explosive devices left in wait for their patrols. Urgently needing armored vehicles to restore order and protect their personnel (both man and machine), the provincial government of Victoria reached out to local civilian vehicle manufacturers for a solution, and in this moment of haste and desperation, the Palamedes was born.
