I made my take Jörmungandr: The World Serpent from Norse Mythology. He's one of Loki's three children, and is also known as the Midgard Serpent. Jörmungandr lives in the oceans, and is said to be large enough to encircle the entire globe, and bite his own tail. The image of a snake or dragon eating it's own tail is often a representation of the circle of life. Thus, in Norse Mythology, when Jörmungandr releases his tail, it would be one of the first events to bring about Ragnarök. I didn't want this to just look like a big snake, so I got a little creative with the design. I tried to incorporate aspects of deep sea fish like viperfish and oarfish, as well as their bioluminescence, which made it feel a lot more unique. Also, I ended up placing over 1000 individual scales for this sculpt. It's a lot more work than using an alpha, but the results are way more impressive, in my opinion.
