Makes
Soviet experimental air-droppable tank from 1942.
Designed by engineer Oleg Antonov as a temporary solution to deliver light tanks behind enemy lines by towing them with a bomber.
The T-60 tank (later planned to use T-70) was fitted with detachable biplane wings with 18-meter span, wooden tail unit, and minimal flight controls. After landing, the crew was supposed to remove the wings and tail in 30–40 minutes, turning the vehicle back into a fully combat-ready tank.
One prototype was built in 1942. It successfully passed towing tests behind a TB-3 bomber, but never saw combat use.
The most famous and arguably the most insane "flying tank" project of World War II.
