This is a remix of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:8717 . This design has a base that is permanently attached to the enclosure and fan. No tools are required when you need to change the filter material. The part containing the filter material detaches from the base to be disassembled as needed.
This uses activated carbon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002APZY4)
For the mesh I cut up a shallot bag. I tried using the material used in a face mask but it didn’t allow for any airflow.
The fan is attached to the base using standard M5x10 fan screws that are generally supplied with the fan. (e.g. http://www.ebay.com/itm/261702980525)
The base is attached to the enclosure using M3 flush head flat top screws.
There are now two versions of the bottom and middle sections. I added a deeper/larger capacity version. You'll need a pretty strong fan to push air through the larger capacity version. I found a 67CFM fan (or so it claims). I'll see how it performs.
