Doesn't do just acme thread of course, does any thread you can draw a profile cutting tool for via polygon() in openscad.
Done pretty neatly, includes inclination of the tool as your supposed too when cutting into material for a thread.
I think this is so far the BEST version of threading for openscad done yet, and envisage the porting toward the codebase as a standard.
ie. linear_extrude (add 90deg option ,no inclination option)
ie. rotary_extrude (which is what this is)
ie. helical_extrude (an optional inclination option when doing a rotary extrude (with of course pitch)) -> should be my code from here. (math method at the very least)
SO!!
Whatever your tool, you need to account for your angle of inclination/force of cut!!!
Making REAL THREADS, not just shapes rotated around in a helix in 2d. I have included the 3rd dimension (the angle cutting of the tool) to draw real thread.
