Hello ant lovers.
This is an ant farm I have designed.
Material:
-Laser cut the acrylic components
++The material thickness for the center is 3/16" (0.17") thick acrylic. The cover pieces are 1/16" (0.060") acrylic.
-3D Printed (PLA) the top plug and also the feet
Notes:
Holes are for 1/4-20 bolts.
You can see an image of a custom one I made on our Instagram page, Uberlaser.
The center thickness could be 3D printed also if desired.
I would also recommend gluing the cover pieces to the center thickness because sand/dirt will fall between between the air gaps. The only issue with glueing is that you can not clean the farm as easily anymore.
IF YOU GLUE MAKE SURE YOU ALLOW MANY HOURS TO PASS BEFORE PLACING ANTS INTO THE FARM. THE FUMES WILL KILL THE ANTS.
