In my woodworking shop I needed something to help set saw blade and router bit heights with reasonable accuracy and I did not want to mess with buying and keeping track of two sets of setup blocks. This design was based loosely on a metal one available on Amazon for 17 bucks, but one of my New Year’s resolutions was to spend less money at Amazon. In addition to setting saw blade and router bit heights, this gauge can be used for setting drill press stops and transferring measurements. Use in conjunction with a digital vernier caliper if you need greater accuracy. There are 3 types of index travelers to chose from. Two have recesses to accommodate a standard ¼ bolt head measuring 10.9 mm from face to face, one favoring the metric side, the other favoring Freedom Units. One has no recesses should you prefer that approach. You will need to provide a ¼” diameter 2-inch bolt, washer, and wing nut, available at any hardware store. Let me know how it works for you as well as ideas for improvem
