You don't really need an insert for Airlines Europe to fit stuff, but I really wanted to have trays of planes by the board without the box. There are also trays for the various point tokens which help a lot. Also supports sleeved cards.
Yes there's a giant hole in the middle, there just aren't many components to this game.
