Airpatrol Controller Casing 1

My approach to designing this casing was to think of a product that was visually appealing and told something about the Airpatrol company. I quickly realized the product revolves around being able to control your heat pump with your Mobile phone using their app. I decided to model my case after their mobile phone app, and picture what it would look like in 3D. This led to their famous clouds rolling on a wavy back ground. The LEDs and IR sensors are located at the bottom of the case allowing for the case itself to be the main focus. The two hidden buttons are located on the very front where the wave design becomes most visual. The micro USB port is actually located underneath. This conceals the actual port and plug, leaving only the beauty of the product showing.
