I broke a side latch on my kitchen window while replacing the spiral balances. This is a replacement for the LEFT HAND latch. If you need the right hand latch you can mirror the part while slicing.
Should you too have a house with these elderly Alcan aluminum windows, I hope this is of use to you. If you use it, please let me know by posting a "make" or comment. Feedback always welcome.

Watch out for the spring when removing the old part from the window!
