I couldn't find a model of the alethiometer, so I made one.
The alethiometer is featured in Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy, now running on HBO.
It's used for divination. The question is set by setting the pointers to three symbols. The arrow then moves and points at symbols to reveal an answer.
The pointers and arrow nest inside each other. It's a snug fit, use some lube so they can move freely.
I included a blank symbol ring. In the books the symbols are drawn on.
