AMD Socket 462 (Socket A) Motherboard Backplate

This is a custom backplate designed for AMD Socket 462 (Socket A) motherboards to provide a sturdy mounting surface for CPU coolers that utilize the four motherboard pass-through mounting holes.

I created this model while adapting a modern CPU water block to an older Athlon system using the brackets from a Zalman Reserator 1. Many Socket A boards either lack a proper backplate or rely on fragile plastic retention clips, which can be risky when mounting heavier coolers or water blocks. This backplate distributes mounting pressure across the PCB and provides a much more secure mounting point.

While originally designed for my water-cooling setup, the hole spacing should work with a variety of CPU coolers that mount through the motherboard holes, making it useful for retro PC enthusiasts who still enjoy pushing classic hardware to its limits.

Material: PETG or ABS recommended (better thermal resistance than PLA)
