AMS Buffer Holder on AMS - Super Short VersionIt's a holder to mount the buffer on the back of the AMS instead of the back of the printer. It use double-sided tape to stick on it. Because PTFE tubes are a lot shorter, it reduces the time of a filament change, on a big and long print with a lots of filament changes, every time saved adds up and the end result can be noticeable. Wear and tear may be more significant however even if I haven't noticed any problems yet after multiples 500+ filament changes prints. The length of the AMS - Buffer PTFE tube is 12.5 centimeters and Buffer - Printer tube is 30.5 centimeters. The last tube is short and because of its radius, the buffer spring may have difficulty pushing the plastic to the left when the tube is not well aligned with the coupler, so you can install this straightening piece to fix the problem.
