This project was started to repair a broken anemometer cup of a Maplin WH1081 weather station. I think this also goes by other names such as a Watson W-8681, Elecsa AstroTouch 6975, Sparkfun SEN-08942 or ClimeMET CM2000 to name just a few.
The plastic on the existing anemometer had become embrittled over time and so it was decided to print a new set of cups and the hub rather than try to print a cup repair part.
It is possible, with care, to print the Wind Cups without support. I printed my parts using ABS but PETG may be better. PLA can be used but it might not be so durable in the long term, although it would be easy to just print new ones if required.
The hub has been configured to take the existing 4mm cylindrical magnet and to fit on the 10mm bearing of the existing anemometer body. I made the hub slightly larger in diameter to make up for the slightly thicker skirt at the bottom of the hub that prevents water and dirt ingress. It seems to work OK but I could have made
