I have found this filament guide to be useful when nearing the end of a roll, where the filament is quite curled.I printed it at .3 layer height 3 layers thick with 20% infill.
Also seen in the picture are the aluminum angle frame reinforcements, the z stop modification, the elongated x axis base, illuminated print head and removed print cooling fan. Not shown are the added fans on both the power supply and over the processor board and the use of rubber bands to hold the cables up that feed the print head and bed.
A couple of important ideas before you assemble the A8 is to polish the steel guide rods as they are quite rough. And to pack the linear bearings with grease, they are quite dry when shipped.
My printer has well over 2600 hours on it now and runs great!
