When installing a water supply shutoff valve under a sink, it can be hard to hold the valve in place, at the desired angle, while tightening the main compression nut. This tool threads on to the output compression fitting so you can hold the valve in position.
This tool only fits 3/8" compression fittings, which are common on toilets and under sinks in the USA. (Some are 1/2". I didn't have a valve to test it on, so did not make that version.)
You can buy these in metal for $20-$30, and they will last a lifetime. But if you're just doing a valve every now and then, this might work for you. (For full disclosure, I have not used this to actually install a valve yet. I'll update this when I do.)
I put a 1/4" diameter hole down the center. This is so you can put a #2 Philips screwdriver shaft down there to strengthen the handle when in use. I printed it standing up, with the threads down.
I also made another version with a hex cutout, so you can put a 3/8" compression n
