This is a formicarium designed for fledgling ant colonies. I've restricted my nest in the picture to only the first three levels using a piece of cotton wool (they were a little on the small side when I moved them).
Hydration is via cotton wool (or some other substrate) placed into the rear, although be careful not to overfill as it will flood the lower level. Thankfully this isn't too much of an issue, as it is easy to drain through the tubing ports (I've accidentally done this a couple of times).
The front is designed to take perspex from a 10cm by 15cm IKEA frame cut in half.
The lid is secured using M3 6mm bolts and square M3 nuts. You can get these pretty cheaply off Ebay (you just might need to wait a little while for it to be posted from China).
Enjoy!
