As everyone knows the Anycubic i3 Mega S comes with a built in spool holder. Unfortunately, I have some filament spools with smaller inner diameter and / or larger width, both don’t fit on the spool holder. My first temporary solution was round piece of wood.
Now I have designed the enclosed filament holder mainly consisting of a threaded bolt which holds the filament spool and a nut which keeps the spool in place.
I have added a small M3 thread to the nut which can be used to the protect the nut from getting lose during printing.
After the first print with standard tolerances it was really hard to get nut and bolt sliding, took me half an hour, some oil, a steel brush and a lot of patience. After that I have increased clearances of both nut and bolt by 0.1mm, but didn’t test it anymore.
The enclosed files contain the version with larger clearances. In case it’s still too tight please let me know.
