To avoid problems with curling on the perimeters of any model of medium difficulty, I decided to add two additional coolers (fans) that cool the filament immediately as it is laid. One cooler is not enough because I noticed that only one side of the model was without curling, the other side still developed it.
Unfortunately, adding the coolers narrows down the available horizontal work space, as the print head needs some clearance from the coolers. However, if one can live with that, give it a try.
I have used two 12cm Nidec TA450DC 12V/0.8A coolers, which are capable of delivering 220CFM, that is enough for anything. It is a bit overkill but I have not had any other smaller cooler at hands and I wanted to avoid the small 40 or 50mm coolers because I do not trust them.
The electronics I am using for regulation of the fan speed is available from the link:
