The conic sections are shapes created when a flat surface (like a piece of paper) intersects with a three-dimensional cone at various angles. Ancient Greek mathematicians, including Apollonius of Perga, did a lot of work to understand and explain the properties of these shapes. Their ideas continue to be important in today's mathematics. These conic sections, like circles, ellipses, parabolas, and hyperbolas, are used in various areas of modern math, showing how concepts from ancient times still have a big impact on our understanding of math today. I made the model 210 mm high, and you would need several circular magnets 10 mm Diameter and 4mm height. I used the smooth PEI/Hight Temp. Plate for smooth surface. There is a Step file in case you need to change the connection or the size of the magnets. If you need other magnet size, feel free to send a message and I will create a version for you.
