This is a mount for a Apple Touch ID Sensor into a wodden desk. I used a Magic Keyboard without numpad (has a more compact PCB). There are a couple of videos on how to harvest a sensor from a keyboard (be careful with the ribbon cable!). The TouchID Sensor will be screwed into the “Sensor_Mount” with the original screws. To insert the sensor you need to gentle bend the four screw bridge to get the sensor underneath. Once its in place, bend it back and screw the sensor with the screws in place. Next we need to install the “M18_Shell” onto the sensor mount. Therefor you need to add four M2 press-in-sleeves to the sensor mount. Carefully route the ribbon cable in the inside of the M18 shell. I recommend to add some glue to the ribbon cable at the TouchID sensor to de-stress the cable. If you have secured everything you can screw a 18mm hole into your wodden desk at the desired position.
