So… the Apple TV remote power button suddenly fell off. And as I found out by searching the interwebs, I’m not alone. Surprisingly, there was almost no documentation on how to fix it. I had to go for a walk to calm down after watching the iFixit teardown. Apple, of course, tells you to buy a new remote. After a while, I realized I might be able to just drop in a new button without taking it apart. When I started looking for such a button, I found very few available to 3D print. The one I found immediately broke. So I brought out the caliper and created my own. And behold! It worked on the second try! It fits really nice and gives a satisfying click when pressed. Its about the same height as the original. It’s very small to print, so you might have to experiment with tolerances. On my X1C, the print measures about 5.9 mm. The original aluminum button is 6 mm. It looks really good in black, almost stock. It will probably look awesome in other colors as well. I printed it on a cool plate
