Use scissors or clippers to cut the size you need if it is too wide or too short and you print multiples. I used very small zipties from amazon to tie the mesh onto the overflow slots. One ziptie on each side is enough to keep it in place. I made this after my Khuli Loaches kept falling into my aquarium overflow filter. Most overflow filters are slots so any smaller fish can easily fall into it if they get too close. This mesh covers the slots with small holes so water can still flow through while the fish cannot. I would scale this model to just smaller than your smallest fish in the tank. The mesh in the picture was actually too big and the loach still fell through. The uploaded one is very small and nothing can fit through it except maybe baby shrimps. The only downside is if you make it too small leaves and other debris can begin to cover it up. I recommend cleaning it once or twice a week by just running your hand over it and pulling out any bigger pieces of leaves.
