This documents my changes to the ["Articulating LED desk lamp"](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4862355) by Gladius_Illuminatus on Thingiverse.
I really liked the design and function, but wasn't a huge fan of 'fiddly' nature of the print settings. This version you can print without having to make the springs 100% infill. I would recommend retaining the 0.25mm layer height though, as the extra 'tooth' to the teeth really helps with grip.
I've successfully printed two lamps, 4 arm lengths tall, that are stable.
## Printing
Have. Patience.
### Arm segments & Compression Wheel Covers
I printed all the arm parts and compression covers at 0.25mm layers, 2 perimeters, 3 solid layers on top and bottom.
Infill was 15%, Cubic. Top and bottom are rectilinear. I did not iron.
### Base, Base Insert, swivel, & compression screws
Adjusted the layer thickness to 0.15mm
### Clamp
Layer height: 0.25, 4 perimeters, 4 layers top / bottom (1mm shell).
Infill: cubic, 25%.
