This is a case designed to test the AS5600 magnetic encoder, which comes already mounted on a Breakout Board (BoB), furnished with a Neodymium cylindrical magnet. It's meant to be used with the cheapest and most popular board available (see details in one of the attached photos). This BoB includes a pin header connector, not soldered, and a small, convenient magnet, all in a kit. I discarded the pin header connector and soldered the wires directly.
The design can be used as a very low-friction windvane, but its main purpose is to facilitate testing the chip and its performance as a magnetic encoder.
The final version may depend on the different ball bearings and axle you will be using, and any other mod you may judge suitable. I am providing the SketchUp design (100:1 scaled) for you to freely modify. At least, inspecting the SKP file will make it more straightforward to understand how the different parts are interrelated.
