Atari 7800 Cartridge Guide (remix)

A remix of Rajada's Atari 7800 cartridge guide that does not require supports to print.

An optional backing plate is included to reinforce the cartridge connector and circuit board interface. On my 7800, there was enough play between the original connector guide and motherboard to rub away a spot of solder mask and expose the trace beneath it. The backing plate adds a contact point with the bottom housing and has holes to enable the 2 existing (thin) supports to pass through. The added support reduces the mushy feel when inserting cartridges into the unit.

To mount the backing plate, you will need 2 longer M3x16mm screws to replace the factory guide mounting screws. You can leave the existing mounting plate in place and the new M3 screws will pass through the holes, allowing you to easily restore your 7800 back to its original cartridge guide if needed.
