I designed this dock to fit my AtomX SSDMini drives, as well as drives using the Atomos Master Caddy. I didn't want to shell out the $75 for the Atomos SSD dock, but I did not like how wobbly the connection was on a regular SATA to USB cable. I was afraid of damaging the port on my expensive SSD.

This dock is designed to work with a $13 Startech SATA to USB cable (Model USB3S2SAT3CB is the one I have, which is SATA to USB A, but it should also work with the USB C model)

The SATA adapter is held in place by two M3x8mm hex cap screws so it does not pull out of place when removing the drive.

The dock has tab rails that keep the drive parallel to the SATA connector to prevent damage.
