I have an Atomstack X7 diode laser engraver. I'm finally using it for a decent size project and one thing that's always frustrated me was adjusting the laser height. Every time I would tighten the adjustment screw, the end of the screw would bite into the mounting plate and it would want to move the laser downward, making it near impossible to remove the 3mm spacer you use to make sure the laser is in focus.

What I did is, I removed the screw and filed the end flat so there are no sharp edges. I also filed the mounting plate to remove any marring the screw had already done. I then simply put the cap on the end of the screw and lowered it into the mount. Now when I tighten the screw after setting the height, it doesn't wander or move at all; it simply tightens like it should! SO much easier!
