Attractive and Repulsive Magnet Ring

This is a multi-magnet toy that demonstrates some cool properties you get when you combine several magnets. It will start to attract a magnet then repulse it when it gets too close. Alternatively it will repel a magnet until it gets really close. At that point the magnets stick together (I don't have video of that yet).

I'm using a 1/2"x 1/16" magnet for the middle and 1/8" x 1/16" magnets for the ring. You can customize the model for different sizes and different number of ring magnets. If the two magnets always stick together, I'd try increasing the number of small magnets in the ring until the second magnet hovers at least a few mm away. Alternatively if you can print finer resolution you can change the wall thickness.

I printed this in ABS because I wanted to press fit the magnets cold, but it would probably work with PLA or another material.
