Automatic Dog Feeder

This product is a automatic, motor controlled dog feeder that dispenses food on a programmed schedule. The plastic jug located on the top of the device is used as a storage for the dog food. This jug holds two liters of dog food and can be refilled by screwing the jug out of the base and refilling with food. This device will allow busy families or individuals that cannot or do not have the time to constantly look over their pets, to keep their pets fed. This product works by having a motor attached to an digital programmable circuit. This motor can be set to rotate on a schedule and this motor will move a blocking plate from the cone that dog food is stored secondarily. This plate and motor is located within the larger cone like structure between the jug and the dog feeder base. This project will be manufactured through 3D printing with FBS plastic for the cone and base and the bottle will be attached additionally. The implications of this project will be to save meaningful time in people’s lives as dog owners make up almost one fifth of the population in the United States today.
