This is a RESIN PRINTER design for a bagpipe chanter reed. Printed blades will require light sanding to reach the preferred reed hardness. Proper pressure applied to the soundbox (using waxed thread, orthodontic bands, etc.) will be very important in achieving a constant and repeatable tone. Whatever supports you end up applying make sure they touch the top of the blade, not the inner face as this will impact air flow and sound quality.

Print 2 copies of the blade. Either print the staple piece, or use a metal staple. Staple will sit against the back of the soundbox formed by joining two reed blades.
Using the printed staple does make for a slightly quieter reed. My cane reeds typically sound around 110dB, my printed versions have been closer to 103dB.

Very interested to hear about any improvements on design, or examples of successful prints. Happy tweaking!
