UPDATE: There is now a version of this file for flexible filament. Prints the ball complete with a slit in the top to slide the bit:buddy & microbit into it. File name should be "Flex Ball.stl"
This is a ball is designed to carry a micro:bit with bit:buddy from Lectrify. http://www.lectrify.it/products/bitbuddy
The bit:buddy attaches to the micro:bit and has onboard battery as well as a piezo buzzer. It can be securely placed inside the ball while still allowing access to the on/off switch, USB port for uploading programs, view of the LEDs and access to the buttons.
This allows students an engaging form factor to explore various programming concepts that take advantage of the onboard gyro/magnetometer/accelerometer, lights and sound.
Sample projects include:
GAMES
- Count how many catches without dropping the ball.
- Create a game of hot potato using the LEDs and sound for feedback.
- Design a magic 8 ball
- Design a game where balls interact with each other
