Been looking for a strong ball joint that can hold position without breaking, looks like this is it.
Reverse engineered and optimized for vertical printing without support, short version to suit my needs. Printed at 0.2 mm with and without raft. Raft is definitely the safest way to go, also the raft quality won't affect the functionality of the joint.
Thanks to Sergei for putting the original/horizontal version out there.
edit: added dumbbell for projects that need a ball in both ends. You'll find a Raspberry Pi cam holder that attaches to this, and a socket that clips into the frame of an Anycubic Kossel here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3412439
edit: after some use, mine seemed to loosen up a bit. Made some new ones where I added 0.1 mm to the diameter of the ball. Try ball-joint.new.stl and/or dumbbell.new.stl if this happened to you also. Also decided to drop hollowing these ones out and just adjust the infill instead, 50% seems to work here.
