This is a working model of a Balzer relieving tool, patented in 1895. It works by cranking on the winding handle and combines variable gear pitch with eccentric motion to simulate machining the relief on milling machine cutters. The patent is comprehensive but difficult to visualise - printing this model will demonstrate exactly how it works, and it's fun to show off.
This is my first model, just 5 days from never knowing a thing about 3d printing so if it comes out less than perfect feel free to modify the design if it makes yours work better.
Please see misc. notes for printing and assembly advice.
EDIT: I've now attached the STL file kindly converted by another member.
