The Basket Screen is a crucial coarse screening device in wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations, designed to capture large debris like rags, bottles, and solids from influent flows, protecting downstream equipment and boosting efficiency. Constructed from corrosion-resistant stainless steel with 10-40 mm spaced bars or mesh, it features a robust basket on curved guide rails in a vertical shaft, raised by an electric hoist for automated cleaning. During operation, wastewater flows through the basket to trap solids; when full, it lifts and tilts to discharge into a container, while a drop screen blocks flow to prevent escape, ensuring low headloss and reliable performance in channels up to 3m wide and 5m deep.
