Back in the late 60’s when I was a kid my favorite game to play with was Battling Tops! My neighbor friends would come over and we would spend hours playing with this game. I even played with this by myself and would pull two tops at the same time. I think this game came out in 1968, so it is nearly 50 years old and I thought it was time to see if printing would be a way for the kids of today to play with this.
You can find them still on E-bay, most are not complete. I don’t know how much longer the vintage ones will be around, but I hope my printed design will stay.
My first concern was the size of this game. I tried to design it so someone with a smaller print bed, like my Wanhao D4S printer could make the game. The my game board came out about 12-1/2” square. The original game was 13-1/2 square (I just got the one I ordered from E-Bay). The battling arena is 12” diameter on the original game and my printed version is 11-1/4” dia.
