Bauhaus Stool

This stool is designed in the aesthetics and mission of Bauhaus but the end goal is to finish and subvert the Bauhaus design goals. Bauhaus aimed to modernize everyday objects and bring modernity to the masses but because they were a small operation they weren't able to create modern furniture technically how they dreamed: mass produced, assembly line, injection molded etc. Instead they created beautiful furniture pieces with excellent hand craftsmanship to look mass produced or with the possibility to be mass produced through previously mentioned processes. Here we are a century past the movement and we have at our everyday fingertips the ability to mass produce these products for anyone who wants it. But, this stool design aims to subvert the Bauhaus messaging and put the power of craft into the consumers hands not the manufacturers. This stool is open source, easily customizable, and available to be made by anyone who has access to wood and a CNC machine.
