Beta version of my Y Axis MGN 12 Railed X axis for the bear.
NB: I was a cheapskate when i started this project and went with 2020 for the ends, this has paid off as I don't lose any Z height with this design.
I'm just using cheap rails (350mm length - without support). They take the load of the bed fine (And have less flex than the standard 8mm round rods) so I think they will be OK.
I'm using a cheap Y Carriage that's only 3mm thick (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32970453139.html...) So if anything that's the weakest link in my set up. I think the rails will be fine. An extra bearing block (2 on each side) might be a nice luxury, but I don't think it's required
The bearing blocks I'm using are designed for this carriage
I'm also using old fashioned end-stops so one of my MGN mounts has a recess to accommodate this.
