Benchy Dry Dock

Here’s a fun and functional twist on the classic Benchy! This 3D model is a detailed replica of a ship dry dock, complete with a miniature 0.75x Benchy finished being constructed. Designed as both a calibration tool and a display piece, this model showcases your printer’s capabilities while offering a unique nautical scene. Perfect for tuning your settings and showing off your prints in style! Adhering to the original goal of a Benchy the boat dock features some challenges with many bridges and overhangs. Being an all in one print I knew that adding color to this diorama would significantly increase the print times. Alternatively I opted to use texture to give visual interest via fuzzy skin, ironing, and different top surface patterns. I think it looks great even in a single color.
